“Lift Up Your Eyes” | Genesis 33:1-4 KJV

Sometimes it’s hard to go back home. Home is not always about a physical place, yet it can be. It’s about returning to where we dropped the ball. It’s about facing our past. Its about owning our bad choices. Sometimes it’s about going back to own the very place where life for us, got off track. And it’s hard to do for a lot of reasons. Like the prodigal son in the Bible, we can find ourselves “down on our luck.” The meter has run out. Life has finally caught up with us. A dreaded day of reckoning has arrived and no one has to say it to us. But this is a special place, because God is in this chaos. If left up to us we might put this off forever! But the generosity of God’s love just won’t hear of it. His grace is just too compelling! “But how will this play out? And what’s the point anyway? Isn’t it better for everyone if the past just remains buried,” we reason to ourselves. If you’re not careful you could talk yourself right out of Heaven’s best for your life. Instead, lift up your eyes. Survey the landscape. Everything in your life up until now, happened for no other reason, than to bring you here. For a time and an opportunity like this. The enemy cries foul. But in your heart, you can already sense the freedom in this. And you might not get another chance. So what are you waiting for? Let’s do this!

Bible verse of the day
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
